History of Shawville Ford
Shawville Ford’s inception has a rather unique story. Robert was a dairy farmer in Quyon Quebec where he and his family raised prize winning Ayrshire cows.
He left the farm in 1983 to open his own business, and so started Shawville Ford. As a farmer, he learned the value of long hours and hard work. He soon became known and respected for his honest method of dealing with customers. His customer base of loyal people has developed into many long-lasting friendships. His wife, Heather who was a nurse for 30 years left nursing to work with her family.
Their 2 sons Chris and Curtis have both worked at the dealership from an early age. They have learned the ropes from the ground up. Both Chris, and Curtis started washing vehicles when they were 12 years old, they worked their way up into parts and service and then into sales and management. This has given a tremendous grasp on how not only a dealership runs, but how Shawville Ford runs on a day to day basis. After many years of mentoring from their enterprising father they have risen to be exceptionally respected members of the management team.
Shawville Ford has an admirable staff and vast amount of loyal clientele which have made it all possible. When they started, they stocked 15 vehicles, and now they keep over 100 new in stock.
Customers like the approach of a family business where you deal directly from the owners. Word of mouth has been our best form of advertising as we have gone from selling 60 new vehicles in 1983 to over 350 new vehicles a year today.
As Robert passes the golden torch to his two sons, Chris and Curtis, the future of Shawville Ford is indeed bright.
